Mishkat al-Masabih #508
Purification
The Arabic includes the chain of narration (sanad) and the collector's commentary; the English translation shows the Prophet's words only.
وَعَنْهَا قَالَتْ: قَالَ لِي النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «نَاوِلِينِي الْخُمْرَةَ مِنَ الْمَسْجِدِ» . فَقُلْتُ: إِنِّي حَائِضٌ فَقَالَ: «إِنَّ حَيْضَتَكِ لَيْسَتْ فِي يدك» . رَوَاهُ مُسلم
She also said: The Prophet said to me, “Get me the mat from the mosque,” and when I replied that I was menstruating, he said,
“Your menstruation is not in your hand.”
Muslim transmitted it.
