حَدَّثَنَا يُوسُفُ بْنُ مُوسَى، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عُثْمَانُ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عُثْمَانَ النَّهْدِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى ـ رضى الله عنه ـ قَالَ كُنْتُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فِي حَائِطٍ مِنْ حِيطَانِ الْمَدِينَةِ، فَجَاءَ رَجُلٌ فَاسْتَفْتَحَ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم " افْتَحْ لَهُ وَبَشِّرْهُ بِالْجَنَّةِ ". فَفَتَحْتُ لَهُ، فَإِذَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ، فَبَشَّرْتُهُ بِمَا قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَحَمِدَ اللَّهَ، ثُمَّ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ فَاسْتَفْتَحَ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم " افْتَحْ لَهُ وَبَشِّرْهُ بِالْجَنَّةِ ". فَفَتَحْتُ لَهُ، فَإِذَا هُوَ عُمَرُ، فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ بِمَا قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَحَمِدَ اللَّهَ، ثُمَّ اسْتَفْتَحَ رَجُلٌ، فَقَالَ لِي " افْتَحْ لَهُ وَبَشِّرْهُ بِالْجَنَّةِ عَلَى بَلْوَى تُصِيبُهُ ". فَإِذَا عُثْمَانُ، فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ بِمَا قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَحَمِدَ اللَّهَ ثُمَّ قَالَ اللَّهُ الْمُسْتَعَانُ.
While I was with the Prophet (ﷺ) in one of the gardens of Medina, a man came and asked me to open the
gate. The Prophet (ﷺ) said to me, "Open the gate for him and give him the glad tidings that he will enter
Paradise." I opened (the gate) for him, and behold! It was Abu Bakr. I informed him of the glad
tidings the Prophet (ﷺ) had said, and he praised Allah. Then another man came and asked me to open the
gate. The Prophet (ﷺ) said to me "Open (the gate) and give him the glad tidings of entering Paradise." I
opened (the gate) for him, and behold! It was `Umar. I informed him of what the Prophet (ﷺ) had said, and
he praised Allah. Then another man came and asked me to open the gate. The Prophet (ﷺ) said to me.
"Open (the gate) for him and inform him of the glad tidings, of entering Paradise with a calamity
which will befall him. " Behold ! It was `Uthman, I informed him of what Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) had said.
He praised Allah and said, "I seek Allah's Aid."
Narrated by Narrated Abu Musa:
Context
In this hadith, Abu Musa recounts an event where the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) instructed him to open the gate for visitors and give them the glad tidings of Paradise. The first two visitors were Abu Bakr and `Umar, both of whom received the joyful news. However, when `Uthman arrived, the Prophet (ﷺ) added a caution about a trial he would face. This highlights the Prophet's role in guiding his companions and the balance between good news and the reality of life's challenges.

Said two men from those who feared [to disobey] upon whom Allah had bestowed favor, "Enter upon them through the gate, for when you have entered it, you will be predominant. And upon Allah rely, if you should be believers."
سُورَةُ الزُّمَرِ
Az-Zumar (The Groups)
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
1 ayah
وَسِيقَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَوْا۟ رَبَّهُمْ إِلَى ٱلْجَنَّةِ زُمَرًا ۖ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا جَآءُوهَا وَفُتِحَتْ أَبْوَٰبُهَا وَقَالَ لَهُمْ خَزَنَتُهَا سَلَٰمٌ عَلَيْكُمْ طِبْتُمْ فَٱدْخُلُوهَا خَٰلِدِينَ
But those who feared their Lord will be driven to Paradise in groups until, when they reach it while its gates have been opened and its keepers say, "Peace be upon you; you have become pure; so enter it to abide eternally therein," [they will enter].
سُورَةُ التَّوۡبَةِ
At-Tawba (The Repentance)
2 ayahs
وَٱلسَّٰبِقُونَ ٱلْأَوَّلُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُهَٰجِرِينَ وَٱلْأَنصَارِ وَٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّبَعُوهُم بِإِحْسَٰنٍۢ رَّضِىَ ٱللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ وَرَضُوا۟ عَنْهُ وَأَعَدَّ لَهُمْ جَنَّٰتٍۢ تَجْرِى تَحْتَهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَآ أَبَدًۭا ۚ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْعَظِيمُ
And the first forerunners [in the faith] among the Muhajireen and the Ansar and those who followed them with good conduct - Allah is pleased with them and they are pleased with Him, and He has prepared for them gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide forever. That is the great attainment.
لَّقَد تَّابَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَى ٱلنَّبِىِّ وَٱلْمُهَٰجِرِينَ وَٱلْأَنصَارِ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّبَعُوهُ فِى سَاعَةِ ٱلْعُسْرَةِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا كَادَ يَزِيغُ قُلُوبُ فَرِيقٍۢ مِّنْهُمْ ثُمَّ تَابَ عَلَيْهِمْ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ بِهِمْ رَءُوفٌۭ رَّحِيمٌۭ
Allah has already forgiven the Prophet and the Muhajireen and the Ansar who followed him in the hour of difficulty after the hearts of a party of them had almost inclined [to doubt], and then He forgave them. Indeed, He was to them Kind and Merciful.
سُورَةُ الرَّعۡدِ
Ar-Ra'd (The Thunder)
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
1 ayah
جَنَّٰتُ عَدْنٍۢ يَدْخُلُونَهَا وَمَن صَلَحَ مِنْ ءَابَآئِهِمْ وَأَزْوَٰجِهِمْ وَذُرِّيَّٰتِهِمْ ۖ وَٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ يَدْخُلُونَ عَلَيْهِم مِّن كُلِّ بَابٍۢ
Gardens of perpetual residence; they will enter them with whoever were righteous among their fathers, their spouses and their descendants. And the angels will enter upon them from every gate, [saying],
