وَحَدَّثَنَاهُ عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ، سَمِعَ عَلِيَّ بْنَ، الْحُسَيْنِ عَنْ ذَكْوَانَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، - رضى الله عنها - قَالَتْ قَدِمَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم لأَرْبَعٍ أَوْ خَمْسٍ مَضَيْنَ مِنْ ذِي الْحِجَّةِ ‏.‏ بِمِثْلِ حَدِيثِ غُنْدَرٍ وَلَمْ يَذْكُرِ الشَّكَّ مِنَ الْحَكَمِ فِي قَوْلِهِ يَتَرَدَّدُونَ ‏.‏
" They were reluctant."
Narrated by A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) came out (for Pilgrimage) on The 4th or 5th of Dbu'l Hjjja. The rest of the hadith is the same, but he (the narrator) made no mention of the doubt of Hakam about his (the Prophet's) words:

And if they had intended to go forth, they would have prepared for it [some] preparation. But Allah disliked their being sent, so He kept them back, and they were told, "Remain [behind] with those who remain."
فَلَمَّآ ءَاتَىٰهُم مِّن فَضْلِهِۦ بَخِلُوا۟ بِهِۦ وَتَوَلَّوا۟ وَّهُم مُّعْرِضُونَ
But when he gave them from His bounty, they were stingy with it and turned away while they refused.
سُورَةُ الشُّعَرَاءِ
Ash-Shu'araa (The Poets)
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
1 ayah
فَعَقَرُوهَا فَأَصْبَحُوا۟ نَٰدِمِينَ
But they hamstrung her and so became regretful.
سُورَةُ الطُّورِ
At-Tur (The Mount)
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
1 ayah
قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا كُنَّا قَبْلُ فِىٓ أَهْلِنَا مُشْفِقِينَ
They will say, "Indeed, we were previously among our people fearful [of displeasing Allah].
