حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى، قَالَ قَرَأْتُ عَلَى مَالِكٍ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ، كِلاَهُمَا عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ، عَنِ الأَعْرَجِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏ "‏ لاَ يُمْنَعُ فَضْلُ الْمَاءِ لِيُمْنَعَ بِهِ الْكَلأُ ‏"‏ ‏.‏
Excess water must not be withheld so that the growth of herbage may be hindered.
Narrated by Abu Huraira (Allah be pleased with him) reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:

Context

Abu Huraira (Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) stated that excess water should not be withheld to prevent the growth of herbage. And We have sent the fertilizing winds and sent down water from the sky and given you drink from it. And you are not its retainers.
سُورَةُ عَبَسَ
Abasa (He frowned)
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

وَعِنَبًۭا وَقَضْبًۭا
And grapes and herbage
سُورَةُ النَّبَإِ
An-Naba (The Announcement)
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
1 ayah
لِّنُخْرِجَ بِهِۦ حَبًّۭا وَنَبَاتًۭا
That We may bring forth thereby grain and vegetation
سُورَةُ الفُرۡقَانِ
Al-Furqaan (The Criterion)
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
1 ayah
لِّنُحْۦِىَ بِهِۦ بَلْدَةًۭ مَّيْتًۭا وَنُسْقِيَهُۥ مِمَّا خَلَقْنَآ أَنْعَٰمًۭا وَأَنَاسِىَّ كَثِيرًۭا
That We may bring to life thereby a dead land and give it as drink to those We created of numerous livestock and men.
