The Book Pertaining to the Remembrance of Allah, Supplication, Repentance and Seeking Forgiveness

وَحَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الْحَمِيدِ بْنُ بَيَانٍ الْوَاسِطِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ، - يَعْنِي الطَّحَّانَ - عَنْ سُهَيْلٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَأْمُرُنَا إِذَا أَخَذْنَا مَضْجَعَنَا أَنْ نَقُولَ ‏.‏ بِمِثْلِ حَدِيثِ جَرِيرٍ وَقَالَ ‏ "‏ مِنْ شَرِّ كُلِّ دَابَّةٍ أَنْتَ آخِذٌ بِنَاصِيَتِهَا ‏"‏ ‏.‏
" From the evil of every animal, Thou hast hold upon its forelock (Thou bast full control over it)."
Narrated by Abu Huraira reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) used to command us that as we go to our bedo, we should utter the words (as mention- ed above) and he also said (these words):

Say, "O Allah, Owner of Sovereignty, You give sovereignty to whom You will and You take sovereignty away from whom You will. You honor whom You will and You humble whom You will. In Your hand is [all] good. Indeed, You are over all things competent.

وَقِهِمُ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ ۚ وَمَن تَقِ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ فَقَدْ رَحِمْتَهُۥ ۚ وَذَٰلِكَ هُوَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْعَظِيمُ
And protect them from the evil consequences [of their deeds]. And he whom You protect from evil consequences that Day - You will have given him mercy. And that is the great attainment."
