The Book of Paradise, its Description, its Bounties and its Inhabitants
Sahih

The Arabic includes the chain of narration (sanad) and the collector's commentary; the English translation shows the Prophet's words only.

This hadith has been transmitted on the authority of Jabir with a slight variation of wording.

Context

In this hadith, Jabir narrates a teaching from the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ regarding the inspiration of glorifying Allah. The Prophet ﷺ mentions that just as breathing is a natural instinct, so too is the inclination to engage in acts of worship like tasbih (glorification) and takbir (exaltation). This highlights the innate connection between humans and their Creator, emphasizing the importance of worship in daily life.

Modern Application

In contemporary life, this hadith encourages individuals to cultivate a natural inclination towards worship and remembrance of Allah. Just as breathing is essential, so too should be our engagement in spiritual practices, reminding us to integrate moments of reflection and gratitude into our daily routines.
