Prayer (Kitab Al-Salat): Detailed Injunctions about Witr

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَلاَءِ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ إِدْرِيسَ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي زِيَادٍ، عَنْ عِيسَى بْنِ فَائِدٍ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عُبَادَةَ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏ "‏ مَا مِنِ امْرِئٍ يَقْرَأُ الْقُرْآنَ يَنْسَاهُ إِلاَّ لَقِيَ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ أَجْذَمَ ‏"‏ ‏.‏
The Prophet (ﷺ) said: No man recites the Qur'an, then forgets it, but will meet Allah on the Day of Judgment in a maimed condition (or empty-handed, or with no excuse).
Narrated by Narrated Sa'd ibn Ubadah:

Context

Sa'd ibn Ubadah narrates that the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) warned that anyone who recites the Qur'an and then forgets it will meet Allah on the Day of Judgment in a maimed condition. This hadith emphasizes the importance of preserving the Qur'an in one's memory and the consequences of neglecting it.

يَسْمَعُ ءَايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ يُصِرُّ مُسْتَكْبِرًۭا كَأَن لَّمْ يَسْمَعْهَا ۖ فَبَشِّرْهُ بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍۢ
Who hears the verses of Allah recited to him, then persists arrogantly as if he had not heard them. So give him tidings of a painful punishment.
