حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عُثْمَانَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبَّاسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَعْبَدِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ قَالَ فِيهِ وَالاِبْتِهَالُ هَكَذَا وَرَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ وَجَعَلَ ظُهُورَهُمَا مِمَّا يَلِي وَجْهَهُ ‏.‏
Earnest supplication should be made like this: he raised his hand and made his palms in the direction of his face.

سَأَلَ سَآئِلٌۢ بِعَذَابٍۢ وَاقِعٍۢ
A supplicant asked for a punishment bound to happen
سُورَةُ فُصِّلَتۡ
Fussilat (Explained in detail)
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

لَّا يَسْـَٔمُ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ مِن دُعَآءِ ٱلْخَيْرِ وَإِن مَّسَّهُ ٱلشَّرُّ فَيَـُٔوسٌۭ قَنُوطٌۭ
Man is not weary of supplication for good [things], but if evil touches him, he is hopeless and despairing.
