Context
In this hadith, Jubair bin Mut'im and 'Uthman bin 'Affan approached the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ regarding the distribution of the Khumus (a fifth of the war booty) from the battle of Hunain. They expressed their concern that while the Prophet had allocated shares to Banu Al-Muttalib, they, being relatives of the Prophet, received nothing. The Prophet explained that he viewed Banu Hashim and Banu Al-Muttalib as one entity, thus justifying his decision.
