Sahih

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ هَيَّاجٍ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا قَبِيصَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏ "‏ إِذَا اخْتَلَفْتُمْ فِي الطَّرِيقِ فَاجْعَلُوهُ سَبْعَةَ أَذْرُعٍ ‏"‏ ‏.‏
“When you dispute concerning a path, make it seven forearms length wide.' ”
Narrated by It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:

And, [moreover], this is My path, which is straight, so follow it; and do not follow [other] ways, for you will be separated from His way. This has He instructed you that you may become righteous.

With the advent of Islam, Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, commanded His Apostle (ﷺ) to come to 'Arafat and stay there, and then hurry from there, and this is the significance of the words of Allah:
