حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا غُنْدَرٌ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، عَنْ عَبَّاسٍ الْجُرَيْرِيِّ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عُثْمَانَ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّهُمْ أَصَابَهُمْ جُوعٌ وَهُمْ سَبْعَةٌ قَالَ فَأَعْطَانِي النَّبِيُّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ سَبْعَ تَمَرَاتٍ لِكُلِّ إِنْسَانٍ تَمْرَةٌ ‏.‏
“Then the Prophet (ﷺ) gave me seven dates, one date for each man.”
Narrated by It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that they suffered from hunger and they were seven. He said:

Context

Abu Hurairah narrates an occasion when he and six others were suffering from hunger. The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) provided them with seven dates, ensuring each person received one. This act illustrates the Prophet's (ﷺ) compassion and concern for the community.

[He said], "Joseph, O man of truth, explain to us about seven fat cows eaten by seven [that were] lean, and seven green spikes [of grain] and others [that were] dry - that I may return to the people; perhaps they will know [about you]."
