Wa maa kaana linafsin an tamoota illaa bi iznillaahi kitaabam mu'ajjalaa; wa mai yurid sawaabad dunyaa nu'tihee minhaa wa mai yurid sawaabal Aakhirati nu'tihee minhaa; wa sanajzish shaakireen

And it is not [possible] for one to die except by permission of Allah at a decree determined. And whoever desires the reward of this world - We will give him thereof; and whoever desires the reward of the Hereafter - We will give him thereof. And we will reward the grateful.

It is not for any soul to die save by the leave of God by His decree a prescribed kitāban here a verbal noun that is God has prescribed this term that is to say a term fixed in time neither brought forward nor deferred so why did you retreat in defeat? Defeat does not ward off death nor does standing one’s ground sever life. And whoever desires by his deeds the reward of this world that is his requital in it We will give him of it what has been alloted to him but he shall have no share in the Hereafter; and whoever desires the reward of the Hereafter We will give him of it that is of its reward; and We will requite the thankful.

" Nobody who dies and has something good for him with Allah will (ever like to) return to this world even though he were offered the whole world and all that is in its (as an inducement), except the martyr who desires to return and be killed in the world for the (great) merit of martyrdom that he has seen.

Sunan Ibn Majah #4001It was narrated from ‘Abdullah bin Mas’ud that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:Sahih

“If the appointed time of death of anyone of you is in a certain land, some need will cause him to go there, then when he reaches the furthest point that it is decreed he will reach, Allah takes (his soul). And on the Day of Resurrection the earth will say: ‘My Lord, this is what You entrusted to me.’”

Jami` at-Tirmidhi #2215Abu 'Azzah narrated that the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said:Sahih

"When Allah decrees that a slave (of His) is to die in a land, He makes him have some need from it." Or, he said: "In it."

Sunan an-Nasa'i #3165It was narrated from Kathir bin Murrah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:Hasan

"There is no soul on Earth that dies, and is in a good position before Allah, that would like to come back to you, even if it had all this world, except the one who is killed (in the cause of Allah); he wishes that he could come back and be killed again."

Jami` at-Tirmidhi #2655Ibn 'Abbas narrated that the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) recited this Ayah:Sahih

Have the Taqwa of Allah as His due, and do not die except as Muslims. And the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: "If only a drop of Az-Zaqqum were to drip into the abode of the world, it would spoil the peoples' livelihood, so how about the person for whom it is his food?"
