He said ‘Lo! I have loved I have desired the love of worldly good things that is of horses over the remembrance of my Lord’ that is over the afternoon prayer until it that is the sun disappeared behind the night’s veil until it was concealed by that which veils it from sight.

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) taught me to say when the adhan for the sunset prayer was called; "O Allah, this is the time when Thy night comes on, Thy day retires, and the voices of Thy summoners are heard, so forgive me."

Jami` at-Tirmidhi #2254Abu Dharr said:Hasan

"I entered the Masjid at sunset, and the Prophet(s.a.w) was sitting. He said: 'O Abu Dharr! Do you know where this(sun) goes?' I said:'Allah and His Messenger know better.' He said: 'Indeed it goes to seek permission to prostrate, so it is permitted. And it is as if it has been said to it: "Rise from whence you came." So it shall rise from its setting place.' Then he recited: 'That is its fixed course."' He said: "That is the recitation of 'Abdulla bim Mas'ud."
