Aal-i-Imraan · Ayah 74 · View Ayah
يَخْتَصُّ بِرَحْمَتِهِۦ مَن يَشَآءُ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ ذُو ٱلْفَضْلِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ
He selects for His mercy whom He wills. And Allah is the possessor of great bounty.

(He selecteth for His mercy) He chooses for His religion (whom He will) Muhammad and his Companions. (Allah is of Infinite Bounty) He is generous towards Muhammad by bestowing upon him prophethood and Islam.

Narrated by It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:

Narrated by Shu'ba has narrated this on the authority of Mansur with the same chain of transmitters, but he made no mention of this:

Narrated by Sahl bin Mu'ad bin Anas narrated from his father, that the Prophet (s.a.w) said:

“Allah has one hundred (degrees of) mercy, of which He has shared one between all of creation, by virtue of which you show mercy and compassion towards one another and the wild animals show compassion...

Allah created one hundred (parts of mercy) and He distributed one amongst His creation and kept this one hundred excepting one with Himself (for the Day of Resurrection).

Narrated by Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:

“Allah created a hundred mercies, and He placed one mercy among his creation, they show mercy to one another by it, and there are ninety-nine mercies with Allah.”
