Tafsir Ibn Abbas: Al-Hijr, Ayah 29

فَإِذَا سَوَّيْتُهُۥ وَنَفَخْتُ فِيهِ مِن رُّوحِى فَقَعُوا۟ لَهُۥ سَٰجِدِينَ
And when I have proportioned him and breathed into him of My [created] soul, then fall down to him in prostration."

Ibn Abbas Commentary

(So, when I have made him) so when I created his hands, legs, eyes and the rest of him (and have breathed into him of My Spirit) and placed the spirit into him, (do ye fall down, prostrating yourselves unto him) as a greeting.

So when I have proportioned him completed him and breathed caused to flow of My Spirit in him so that he becomes a living thing — the annexation of ‘the Spirit’ to him is a conferring of honour upon Adam — fall down in prostration before him!’ a prostration meant as an act of salutation by bowing.
