Tafsir Ibn Abbas: Al-A'raaf, Ayah 83

Al-A'raaf · Ayah 83 · View Ayah
فَأَنجَيْنَٰهُ وَأَهْلَهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱمْرَأَتَهُۥ كَانَتْ مِنَ ٱلْغَٰبِرِينَ
So We saved him and his family, except for his wife; she was of those who remained [with the evildoers].

Ibn Abbas Commentary

(And We rescued him) i.e. Lot (and his household) his daughters: Za'ura and Raytha, (save his wife, who was of those who stayed behind) and was therefore destroyed.
