سُورَةُ الوَاقِعَةِ
Al-Waaqia (The Inevitable)
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
8 ayahs
۞ فَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِمَوَٰقِعِ ٱلنُّجُومِ
Then I swear by the setting of the stars,
وَإِنَّهُۥ لَقَسَمٌۭ لَّوْ تَعْلَمُونَ عَظِيمٌ
And indeed, it is an oath - if you could know - [most] great.
إِنَّهُۥ لَقُرْءَانٌۭ كَرِيمٌۭ
Indeed, it is a noble Qur'an
فِى كِتَٰبٍۢ مَّكْنُونٍۢ
In a Register well-protected;
لَّا يَمَسُّهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱلْمُطَهَّرُونَ
None touch it except the purified.
تَنزِيلٌۭ مِّن رَّبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
[It is] a revelation from the Lord of the worlds.
أَفَبِهَٰذَا ٱلْحَدِيثِ أَنتُم مُّدْهِنُونَ
Then is it to this statement that you are indifferent
وَتَجْعَلُونَ رِزْقَكُمْ أَنَّكُمْ تُكَذِّبُونَ
And make [the thanks for] your provision that you deny [the Provider]?

Nay I swear fa-lā uqsimu lā is extra by the setting-places of the stars!

And indeed it the swearing by these setting-places of stars is a tremendous oath if you only knew — if you were people of deep knowledge you would realise the magnitude of this oath.

And for your livelihood in the way of rain that is to say the thanks for it you offer your denial? of God’s granting it to you by saying ‘We have rain because of this or that storm’?

Narrated by It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas that one of the wives of the Prophet (ﷺ) performed Ghusl from Janabah, and the Prophet (ﷺ) performed Wudu' with her leftover water. She mentioned that to him and he said:
