Mishkat al-Masabih #3739
Jihad
The Arabic includes the chain of narration (sanad) and the collector's commentary; the English translation shows the Prophet's words only.
وَعَنْهُ قَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا يَطْرُقُ أَهْلَهُ لَيْلًا وَكَانَ لَا يَدْخُلُ إِلَّا غُدْوَةً أَوْ عَشِيَّةً
He said that God’s Messenger did not come to his family during the night, but was accustomed to enter only in the morning or in the evening.
