Mishkat al-Masabih #734
Prayer
The Arabic includes the chain of narration (sanad) and the collector's commentary; the English translation shows the Prophet's words only.
وَعَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لَا يَقْطَعُ الصَّلَاةَ شَيْء وادرؤوا مَا اسْتَطَعْتُمْ فَإِنَّمَا هُوَ شَيْطَانٌ» . رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُد
Abu Sa'id reported God’s Messenger as saying, “Nothing interrupts prayer, but repulse, as much as you can anyone who passes in front of you, for he is just a devil.”
Abu Dawud transmitted it.
