حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، ح وَحَدَّثَنِي هَارُونُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، - وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ - حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏ "‏ الْحُمَّى مِنْ فَيْحِ جَهَنَّمَ فَأَطْفِئُوهَا بِالْمَاءِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏
Fever is from the vehement Paging of the Hell-fire, so cool it with water.
Narrated by Ibn 'Umar reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:

In this hadith, Ibn 'Umar reports that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ described fever as a manifestation of the intense heat of Hellfire. بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

قُلْنَا يَٰنَارُ كُونِى بَرْدًۭا وَسَلَٰمًا عَلَىٰٓ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ
Allah said, "O fire, be coolness and safety upon Abraham."
سُورَةُ الدُّخَانِ
Ad-Dukhaan (The Smoke)
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
1 ayah
ثُمَّ صُبُّوا۟ فَوْقَ رَأْسِهِۦ مِنْ عَذَابِ ٱلْحَمِيمِ
Then pour over his head from the torment of scalding water."
