حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، - الْمَعْنَى - ح وَحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ مُعَاذٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم بِهَذَا الْكَلاَمِ الأَوَّلِ إِلَى قَوْلِهِ ‏ "‏ وَطَعْمُهَا مُرٌّ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ وَزَادَ ابْنُ مُعَاذٍ قَالَ قَالَ أَنَسٌ وَكُنَّا نَتَحَدَّثُ أَنَّ مَثَلَ جَلِيسِ الصَّالِحِ وَسَاقَ بَقِيَّةَ الْحَدِيثِ ‏.‏
Anas said: We used tell one another that a good companion is like... He then transmitted the rest of the tradition.
Narrated by The tradition mentioned above has also been transmitted by Abu Musa from the Prophet (ﷺ) through a different chain of narrators up to “and its taste bitter”. Ibn Mu`adh added:

Say, "Each [of us] is waiting; so wait. For you will know who are the companions of the sound path and who is guided."
سُورَةُ قٓ
Qaaf (The letter Qaaf)
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
1 ayah
وَقَالَ قَرِينُهُۥ هَٰذَا مَا لَدَىَّ عَتِيدٌ
And his companion, [the angel], will say, "This [record] is what is with me, prepared."
سُورَةُ الوَاقِعَةِ
Al-Waaqia (The Inevitable)
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
1 ayah
وَأَمَّآ إِن كَانَ مِنْ أَصْحَٰبِ ٱلْيَمِينِ
And if he was of the companions of the right,
سُورَةُ الزُّخۡرُفِ
Az-Zukhruf (Ornaments of gold)
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
1 ayah
حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا جَآءَنَا قَالَ يَٰلَيْتَ بَيْنِى وَبَيْنَكَ بُعْدَ ٱلْمَشْرِقَيْنِ فَبِئْسَ ٱلْقَرِينُ
Until, when he comes to Us [at Judgement], he says [to his companion], "Oh, I wish there was between me and you the distance between the east and west - how wretched a companion."
