Establishing the Prayer and the Sunnah Regarding Them

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ الأَزْهَرِ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَنْبَأَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ ‏ "‏ أَوْتِرُوا قَبْلَ أَنْ تُصْبِحُوا ‏"‏ ‏.‏ قَالَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى فِي هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ دَلِيلٌ عَلَى أَنَّ حَدِيثَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ وَاهٍ ‏.‏
“The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘Pray Witr before morning comes.’”

Context

Abu Sa’eed narrates that the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) advised to pray Witr before morning comes. This emphasizes the importance of timely prayer and the spiritual significance of concluding the night with supplication.

And from [part of] the night, pray with it as additional [worship] for you; it is expected that your Lord will resurrect you to a praised station.
