فَخَرَجَ عَلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦ مِنَ ٱلْمِحْرَابِ فَأَوْحَىٰٓ إِلَيْهِمْ أَن سَبِّحُوا۟ بُكْرَةًۭ وَعَشِيًّۭا
Fakharaja 'alaa qawmihee minal mihraabi fa-awhaaa ilaihim an sabbihoo bukratanw wa 'ashiyyaa
So he came out to his people from the prayer chamber and signaled to them to exalt [Allah] in the morning and afternoon.

Tafsir
Scholars largely agree on this ayah
So he emerged before his people from the sanctuary that is from the temple — they had been waiting for him to open it in order to perform their prayers therein after his command as was the custom — and signalled indicated to them ‘Make glorifications perform prayers at morning and evening’ at the beginning of the day and at its end as per usual. He then realised upon his being prevented from speaking to them that she was pregnant with John.

Allah, the Exalted, would awaken the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) at night. When the dawn came, he would his finish daily round of recital.
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) built a chamber in the mosque. He used to come out at night and pray there. They (the people) also prayed along with him. They would come (to prayer) every night. If on any night the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) did not come out, they would cough, raise their voices and throw pebbles and sand on his door. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) came out to time in anger and said: O People, you kept on doing this till I thought that it will be prescribed for you. Offer your prayers in your houses, for a man's prayer is better in his house except obligatory prayer.
As the people were engaged in the morning prayer a man came to them. The rest of the hadith is the same.
On completing the prayer with salutation, and he turned to the people in the mosque and said....
