He exalted be He will say to them by the tongue of a Keeper of Hell a variant reading for qāla ‘He will say’ has qul ‘say’ ‘How long did you tarry in the earth in this world and in your graves in years?’ ‘adada sinīna is a specification.

I asked Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) about the words of Allah, the Exalted and Glorious:" The day when the earth would be changed for another earth and Heaven would be changed for another Heaven (XiV. 48), (and inquired: ) (Allah's Messenger), where would the people be on that day? He said: They would be on the Sirat.

"Allah decreed the measures fifty-thousand years before He created the Heavens and the earth."
