قَالُوٓا۟ أَءِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًۭا وَعِظَٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَبْعُوثُونَ
Qaalooo 'a-izaa mitnaa wa kunnaa turaabanw wa 'izaaman 'a-innaa lamab 'oosoon
They said, "When we have died and become dust and bones, are we indeed to be resurrected?
Tafsir
Scholars offer complementary perspectives
They the ancients said ‘What when we are dead and have become dust and bones shall we then be raised? No! the two hamzas in each of the two instances are either pronounced fully or with the second one not pronounced but with an alif inserted between the two hamzas in both readings.

There is a bone in the human being which the earth would never consume and it is from this that new bodies would be reconstituted (on the Day of Resurrection). They said: Allah's Messenger, which bone is that? Thereupon he said: It is the spinal bone.
“There is no part of man that will not disintegrate, apart from
a
single bone at the base of the coccyx, from which he will be
recreated on the Day of Resurrection.”
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Between the two blowing of the trumpet there will be forty." The people said, "O
Abu Huraira! Forty days?" I refused to reply. They said, "Forty years?" I refused to reply and added:
Everything of the human body will decay except the coccyx bone (of the tail) and from that bone
Allah will reconstruct the whole body.
`Uqba said to Hudhaifa, "Won't you narrate to us what you heard from Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) ?" Hudhaifa
said, "I heard him saying, 'Death approached a man and when he had no hope of surviving, he said to
his family, 'When I die, gather for me much wood and build a fire (to burn me),. When the fire has
eaten my flesh and reached my bones, take the bones and grind them and scatter the resulting powder
in the sea on a hot (or windy) day.' (That was done.) But Allah collected his particles and asked (him),
'Why did you do so?' He replied, 'For fear of You.' So Allah forgave him."
Narrated `Abdu Malik:
As above, saying, "On a windy day."
“Breaking the bones of the deceased is like breaking his bones when
he
is alive.”

وَٱلَّذِينَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِمَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكَ وَمَآ أُنزِلَ مِن قَبْلِكَ وَبِٱلْءَاخِرَةِ هُمْ يُوقِنُونَ
And who believe in what has been revealed to you, [O Muhammad], and what was revealed before you, and of the Hereafter they are certain [in faith].

How can you disbelieve in Allah when you were lifeless and He brought you to life; then He will cause you to die, then He will bring you [back] to life, and then to Him you will be returned.
وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَكَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلنَّارِ ۖ هُمْ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَ
And those who disbelieve and deny Our signs - those will be companions of the Fire; they will abide therein eternally."
وَءَامِنُوا۟ بِمَآ أَنزَلْتُ مُصَدِّقًۭا لِّمَا مَعَكُمْ وَلَا تَكُونُوٓا۟ أَوَّلَ كَافِرٍۭ بِهِۦ ۖ وَلَا تَشْتَرُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِى ثَمَنًۭا قَلِيلًۭا وَإِيَّٰىَ فَٱتَّقُونِ
And believe in what I have sent down confirming that which is [already] with you, and be not the first to disbelieve in it. And do not exchange My signs for a small price, and fear [only] Me.
وَٱتَّقُوا۟ يَوْمًۭا لَّا تَجْزِى نَفْسٌ عَن نَّفْسٍۢ شَيْـًۭٔا وَلَا يُقْبَلُ مِنْهَا شَفَٰعَةٌۭ وَلَا يُؤْخَذُ مِنْهَا عَدْلٌۭ وَلَا هُمْ يُنصَرُونَ
And fear a Day when no soul will suffice for another soul at all, nor will intercession be accepted from it, nor will compensation be taken from it, nor will they be aided.
