(And in (the tribe of) 'Aad) the people of Hud ((there is a portent) when We sent) We set on them (the fatal wind against them) the severe wind in which there was no comfort for them, this is the west wind.

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "I was granted victory with As-Saba and the nation of 'Ad was destroyed by Ad- Dabur (westerly wind) .
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "I have been made victorious with the Saba (i.e. easterly wind) and the people of 'Ad were destroyed with the Dabur (i.e. westerly wind) ."
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "I have been made victorious with As-Saba (i.e. an easterly wind) and the people of 'Ad were destroyed by Ad-Dabur (i.e. a westerly wind)."
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "I have been made victorious by As-Saba (i.e. an easterly wind) and the Ad nation was destroyed by Ad-Dabur (i.e. a westerly wind).
Whenever a strong wind blew, anxiety appeared on the face of the Prophet (fearing that wind might be a sign of Allah's wrath).
I have been helped by the east wind and the 'Ad were destroyed by the west wind.
I was in the company of Ibn Mas'ud that there blew a red storm. The rest of the hadith is the same.
'Abdullah b. Umar reported that Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) burnt the date-palms of Banu Nadir.
A similar report was narrated from 'Adiyy bin Hatim.

And also in the destruction of ‘Ād was a sign when We unleashed against them a barren wind a wind which brings nothing of good for it does not bear any rain and does not pollinate any trees; this wind was the west wind al-dabūr.
