Tafsir Ibn Abbas: Ar-Ra'd, Ayah 24

Ar-Ra'd · Ayah 24 · View Ayah
سَلَٰمٌ عَلَيْكُم بِمَا صَبَرْتُمْ ۚ فَنِعْمَ عُقْبَى ٱلدَّارِ
"Peace be upon you for what you patiently endured. And excellent is the final home."

Ibn Abbas Commentary

And the angel says: (Peace be unto you because you persevered) this Garden is yours because you persevered in observing Allah's commands and in bearing misfortunes. (Ah, passing sweet will be the sequel of the (heavenly) Home) how good is the Garden for you.

Narrated by Sulaiman b. Buraida narrated on the authority of his father that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to teach them when they went out to the graveyard. One of the narrators used to say this in the narration transmitted on the authority of Abu Bakr:

Narrated by It was narrated from Sulaiman bin Buraidah that his father said:
