فَلَا صَدَّقَ وَلَا صَلَّىٰ
And the disbeliever had not believed, nor had he prayed.

Ibn Abbas Commentary

(For he) i.e. Abu Jahl (neither trusted) neither believed in Allah's divine Oneness, (nor prayed) nor embraced Islam and became of those who perform the prayer.

Narrated by Jabir reported the Messenger of Allah (May peace be upon him) as saying :

Narrated by Jabir b. 'Abdullah reported that while Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) was delivering the sermon on Friday a person came there, and the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to him:

Narrated by Abu Bakr bin Hafs - and he is Ibn Umar bin Sa'd bin Abi Waqas - narrated about Ibn Umar, that:
