Narrated by This hadith has been narrated by Shu'ba with the same chain of transmitters and in the hadith transmitted by Sa'id b. al Rabi (the words are):

Narrated by A similar tradition has also been transmitted by 'Ubadah b. al-Samit through a different chain of narrators, but the former tradition is more perfect. This version has:

Narrated by Jabir reported that a person came to Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) and asked for food. And he gave him half a wasq of barley, and the person and his wife and their guests kept on making use of it (as a food) until he weighed it (in order to find out the actual quantity, and it was no more). He came to Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) (and informed him about it). He said:

Narrated by Anas reported this tradition to the same effect through a different chain of narrators. This version adds:

(Which weighed down thy back?) It is also said: prophethood weighed down your back; And the Prophet (pbuh) said: " Yes, indeed! "
