حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا الْمُعْتَمِرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدٌ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ كُنَّا نُجَمِّعُ ثُمَّ نَرْجِعُ فَنَقِيلُ ‏.‏
“We used to perform the Friday (prayer), then we would return for a nap (Qailulah).”

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

قَالُوا۟ لَمْ نَكُ مِنَ ٱلْمُصَلِّينَ
They will say, "We were not of those who prayed,
سُورَةُ الصَّافَّاتِ
As-Saaffaat (Those drawn up in Ranks)
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
1 ayah
وَإِنَّا لَنَحْنُ ٱلصَّآفُّونَ
And indeed, we are those who line up [for prayer].
سُورَةُ الطُّورِ
At-Tur (The Mount)
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
2 ayahs
إِنَّا كُنَّا مِن قَبْلُ نَدْعُوهُ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلْبَرُّ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
Indeed, we used to supplicate Him before. Indeed, it is He who is the Beneficent, the Merciful."
قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا كُنَّا قَبْلُ فِىٓ أَهْلِنَا مُشْفِقِينَ
They will say, "Indeed, we were previously among our people fearful [of displeasing Allah].
