Wealth and children are an adornment of the life of this world adornment with which one arrays oneself therein. But the enduring things the righteous deeds — and these are ‘Glory be to God’ subhāna’Llāh ‘Praise be to God’ al-hāmdu li’Llāh ‘There is no god but God lā ilāha illā’Llāh ‘God is Great’ Allāhu akbar; some add the following ‘There is no power or strength except in God’ lā hawla wa-lā quwwata illā bi’Llāh — these are better with your Lord for reward and better in respect of hope in other words they are better in terms of what a person hopes for and desires from God exalted be He.

"The mutual rivalry (for piling up of worldly things) diverts you, 'Until you visit the graves (i.e. till you die).' The son of Adam says: 'My wealth, my wealth,' but your wealth is what you eat and consume, or what you wear and it wears out, or what you give in charity and send on ahead (for the Hereafter).'"

Sunan Ibn Majah #2024It was narrated from 'Aishah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:Hasan

"The best of your provision is what you earn, and your children are part of what you earn. "

Jami` at-Tirmidhi #1371'Aishah narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:Sahih

"Indeed the most wholesome of what you consume is from your earnings, and indeed your children are from your earnings."

Sunan Abu Dawud #3530Narrated Aisha, Ummul Mu'minin:Sahih

The Prophet (ﷺ) Said: The children of a man come from what he earns, rather they are his pleasantest earning; so enjoy from their property. Abu Dawud said: Hammad b. Abi Sulaiman added in his version: "When you need." But this (addition) is munkar (not authoritative).
