And those who disbelieve say during the Prophet’s s recitation of the Qur’ān ‘Do not listen to this Qur’ān and hoot it down make a din and so forth and clamour whenever he is reciting that perhaps you might prevail’ so that he will then desist from recitation.

Abu Huraira said, "Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, 'Whoever does not recite Qur'an in a nice voice is not from us,' and others said extra," (that means) to recite it aloud."

He said: 'Indeed I said to myself: Why was I being contended with for the Quran?'" He (Az-Zuhri one of the narrators) said: "So when they heard that from Allah's Messenger, the people stopped reciting with Allah's Messenger in the prayers that Allah's Messenger recited aloud."
