And God gave them the reward of this world victory and booty and the fairest reward of the Hereafter that is Paradise husnuhu ‘the fairest of it’ denotes extra favour in addition to what is deserved; and God loves the virtuous.

When a non-believer does good he is made to taste Its reward in this world. And so far as the believer is concerned, Allah stores (the reward) of his virtues for the Hereafter and provides him sustenance in accordance with his obedience to Him.

Jami` at-Tirmidhi #3572Hisham bin Hassan narrated from Al-Hasan :Sahih

concerning the saying of Allah: O our Lord, give us good in this world, and good in the Hereafter. He said: “Knowledge and worship in this world, and Paradise in the Hereafter.”

And indeed, when Allah loves a people He subjects them to trials, so whoever is content, then for him is pleasure, and whoever is discontent, then for him is wrath."
